Dr. Nguyen’s research focus involves a broad area of cellular engineering, biomaterials, tissue engineering, gene therapy/modification, and micro-/nano-particles for controlled drug delivery.

She received her B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota in 1995 and her Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering (with specialization in Bioengineering) from Rice University in 2000.

Dr. Nguyen is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Bioengineering, University of Texas at Arlington, Arlington, and The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas. Her research interests include biomaterials, protein/drug/or gene therapy delivery systems, cellular engineering, and tissue engineering. Dr. Nguyen’s group has produced more than 40 peer-reviewed manuscripts, 3 patent applications, 5 book chapters, and numerous conference abstracts and papers
