As a Co-investigator on the LRRC ACC, Ms. Christian will use her extensive administrative skills and real world experience to oversee and coordinate specific aspects of the ACC related to grant solicitation, peer review, subcontract funding, and project management and progress. She provides valuable assets to the ACC Leadership Team in these areas, as demonstrated by her experience.
Ms. Christian has managed and participated in large-scale and highly specialized multicenter research networks since 1990. She is the COO of the DTRI, which builds and facilitates access to translational technology cores and administers several pilot programs that distribute seed funding for translational projects via a competitive peer-reviewed process. In this role, she oversees all of these programs and serves on the Steering and Advisory Committees of the Coulter Translational Partners Program, the DTRI Advisory and Oversight Committee, the Embryonic and Stem Cell Research Oversight (E)SCRO Committee of the Translational Cell Therapy Center (TC2), the Duke Biobank, and the Biomarker Factory LLC.
As an officer of DTMI, Ms. Christian is able to escalate issues to appropriate institutional authorities and has access to extensive institutional resources and expertise as need arises. She also spent many years building the Cell Therapy (E) SCRO and TC2, which exposed her to a broad spectrum of early translational approaches in regenerative medicine. Her administrative expertise will complement that of Dr. Palmer and she will oversee the work of the DTRI project leaders, Ms. Sutton and Ms Hall in the process of the grant solicitation, peer review, and project management. She will also contribute to the overall direction and management of the ACC as a member of the leadership team.
